Last week, Firework Productions went in to production for it's debut project, Taylor . This LGBTQ+ short film is an uplifting story of a bullied gay teenager who turns his life around when a new friend teaches him to box. Funded almost entirely through Kickstarter, Taylor is now in the can and moving in to the first stages of post production! Really exciting news - the Crowdfunding campaign for LGBTQ+ Boxing short film Taylor goes live NEXT WEEK! Click the link to follow the preview page, and please do consider supporting the project! The COVID-19 crisis has been especially hard on all of us across the arts and entertainment industry, and for those of us in the independent film sector getting things going again is proving to be an enormous challenge - so anything you can do to help would be amazing! Stay safe! Dom & Annie - Team Taylor x

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of every single person on the planet. Across the film and wider arts & entertainment industries, we have seen our worlds stop almost overnight - with no return to 'normal' in sight. As there starts to be some movement out of the tunnel and towards the light, at Firework we have been working on how to get things back on track. For the last two months Producer & CEO Dominic Bolton has been out on the road with the British Red Cross, volunteering on ambulances to support the national response to the pandemic. Operating in London, he has been, working almost exclusively with COVID Positive patients - transferring them between hospitals and assisting with discharges after lengthy stays in hospital. For this reason, there has been fairly limited progress on all things film! As the current peak seems to be dissipating, and the Ambulance workload slowly begins to head down to a more manageable level, Firework is now able to start properly planning for a post-lockdown world. So watch this space as there are lots of exciting updates to come! Take care, stay safe, and wash your hands! x

As the UK starts to lock itself indoors to prepare for the upwards curve of the Coronavirus outbreak, it's hitting the arts particularly hard. Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to postpone all active projects indefinitely. We are however still working remotely on developing projects ready for when normal service resumes. If any of our friends in the industry are struggling, please reach out! It's important we stick together in this difficult time, and we're ready to step up to the plate and help where we can. Take care and stay healthy people! x

Taylor is the result of a collaboration between casting director-come-screenwriter Annie Rowe and Firework Productions’ Dominic Bolton. Having worked with Annie on countless films in her role as a casting director, we are thrilled to be working with her on her debut short film! Safe to say that without Annie's incredible casting over the years, there's a pretty high chance Firework Productions wouldn't even exist! It's for that reason that it's an absolute joy to be working on Taylor with her. This heartwarming short film tells the story of Taylor, a gay teenager at odds with the world and struggling to find his place within it. So it's finally here! The production company I've been talking and dreaming of for the last couple of years is finally with us! This update isn't overly exciting, and it's far more about testing this whole blog thing as it's a new one on me, but don't lose faith, there will be plenty more to come! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned! Dom x
